Pisting

In Branäs, all slopes are pisted every night. When you piste, you break up the snow and then compress it to create the "Manchester pattern". This is to get the maximum exposure area to the cold so that the snow freezes together again and becomes durable and compact.

Slopes

If the snow does not freeze together, it is loose and quickly rises. Therefore, skiing during the day has very little or no effect at all. It also means an increased safety risk to have piste machines in the ski area during the day.

At night, our ski area is a workplace for snowmobiles and piste operators and it is not allowed to stay in the ski area for safety reasons.
